How to migrate user files and apps from iMac to Laptop via iCloud

Migrated from iMac to laptop from cloud. Two user files&Appa simultaneously downloaded. All looks identical under each user. Worried that if I delete 1 user all files on both users will be deleted as they both mirror each other. The one user account was migrated to my new iMac. The 2nd one was created on the new iMac what to do?
