backing up iPhone to MacBook Pro

Can anyone recommend a Mac application for backing up my iPhone to my MBP? It's mostly because it's the best way I've seen to browse iMessage history. For some reason, iMessages aren't available for viewing on iCloud, other than on my phone or Messages on my Mac, which only incrementally loads messages as I scroll up.

I've tried repeatedly with iMazing, but takes HOURS for an incremental back up, and support hasn't been much help.

Looking for a solution and hoping someone here has an answer.

Thanks!

You could try signing out and signing back in in settings and then hitting the sync option. When moving from a M1 to a M2 last year it took two days to have all my messages sync with iCloud. I think it is be cause of all the photos that I had on Messages over the years since I save all of them since doing Messages.

Syncing to iCloud is probably not going to help the OP. You can't access messages from iCloud.com.

All I can suggest is you try Apples suggestion in iCloud since I don't know how old your Mac is. I run five different Mac devices and that are less than five years old and all of them don't have a problem with Messages other than if I delete a contact in contacts it won't show that person in Messages any more and I had to put a whole lot of old contacts back into Contacts from icloud.

it takes hours as it is the first time backing it up, same thing would happen if it was your first time backing up your device to icloud, the only other program beside imazing is touch copy.

support only points to articles, not actual "support"

If you're talking about iMazing support, unfortunately, no one here can do anything about it.

I haven't found it to be especially onerous to back up individual conversations, especially as there are lots of things in Messages I don't need to archive (e.g. notices from Fedex, appointment confirmations from the vet, etc).

It seems to me that your only option is to be patient.
