My old computer got water on it and died. I am not having luck recovering anything to the new computer

Do you have backups? If so, restore those.
If not, attempting to get info off a failed computer is problematic and expensive at best, and quite often not successful. You’ll want to discuss your options with a data recovery firm, if you want to spend on the recovery.
