I use an iPhone and an iPad and have always been able to leaving rates & reviews for books on Apple UNTIL the last update. The rate and review is gone and mark as finished is in its place. I’ searched annd searched but do not find it. Any ideas of where it went?

i have taken offense to your reply so please just forget the question. I’ve reviewed books on Apple that I have read but not purchased from Apple and have never had a problem. I will just not do it on Apple.

I am having the same issue. I think we are now only allowed to rate it if we bought it off of the app. Well what if we had checked it out from the library? Bought it from target or Barnes & nobles? Due to this reasoning (because we didn’t buy it from there), it looks like I will strictly be using Goodreads from now on. I’ve never encountered a book not being listed on Goodreads, but there has been quite a few times the book isn’t available on Apple Books, and I’ll have to forgo putting a book on my list or else list the audiobook (even though I have never in my life done an audiobook.)
I hope Apple Books changes this ruling, because as I said - otherwise it will be strictly Goodreads from here on out.
Offload the app and download again (offloading an app retains all documents and data. You could also try a force restart: Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (AU)

I am having the same issue. I'm quite disappointed that they removed that option.
There is no rate and review on my end now. There is only mark as finished. I would attach a screen shot but guess it’s not allowed. I’ve left reviews before but since the last update the ellipsis subcategories has changed.
Tap on the ellipsis next to the book to bring up Rate and Review.
I tried both and it still does not show rate and review. Thanks!
