Old email account - user name and password prevnts me from forwarding email from the web

On my mac air I can send and receive email from my gmail account. However, when I'm on a website and try to send /forward the website as an email or text message I get an error. It asks for a password from a non functional old work related email account that I cannot access. What can I do to fix this?
