Serial numbers can be trivially copied, and are not useful for detecting counterfeits.
it wouldn’t surprise me to see the serial number you’ve posted now used for counterfeit devices, if the posted serial number is not already a copy of a legitimate serial number that can be used with hundreds or thousands of counterfeit devices.
