How to cancel Apple Music Subscription without losing your iTunes Library?

i would like to cancel my Apple Music subscription since I have iTunes Match. I have several songs ripped from my CD’s and several that I have purchased that are located in iTunes on my Mac

i have heard horror stories about people losing their music when they stop Apple Music subscription. Please let me know if I only lose the music they have rented to me, or do I lose my iTunes library?
