Messages (MacBook) not loading prior to a certain date

Hi all! I have iCloud set up to store my texts forever. Currently, the messaging app on my MacBook will not pull anything prior to a certain date.

HOWEVER I am able to search for prior messages, and they do come up. I’m trying to load as much of the conversation as I can at once, and can only do the last handful of texts. All texts are available through my phone. I have tried various syncing and signing in/out. I even cleared all data from the MacBook last night. This actually made things worse: prior to that I could load this particular conversation as far back as May 13th… now it’s mid June.

help!
