Are there any limitations to using Managed Apple IDs for business?

Hello, at work we are looking at starting to used managed apple IDs, currently we do not but there is interest in features like share my location with maps, but I do not see anything clear on where that works with managed apple IDs for business the same as personal apple IDs.

Yes. Managed Apple IDs have some limitations. See this article from Apple for the full details.

Also, if you are enabling Federation and directory sync, you will trigger a reclamation of any personal Apple ID that is created using your federated domain. For example, let's say your company domain is novasys.com. Months or years ago, users created Apple IDs using novasys.com email addresses. bob@novasys.com, jill@novasys.com, etc. These are currently personal Apple IDs and they have full access to all Apple service. They may also have payment information associated and assets purchased from the various Apple stores. When you federate the domain, those users will be asked to migrate to a new email, thus freeing up the novasys.com email addresses so they can be created as Managed Apple IDs.

Hope this is helpful.
