The notes added in the books app while working on pdf keeps disappearing.

I found this query from some one on this community from 2021

“I bought an iPad to find out how unreliable it is when it comes to annotation on pdfs, Its so annoying and happens constantly. I have the iPad Pro by the way. Can someone please tell me if there's an editing history of the pdf otherwise annotating on the iPad feels like a waste of time and makes me regret choosing this expensive device over cheap paper. Apple fix this please, I lost a whole 5 hours worth of work multiple of times and it's frustrating at this point (you have no idea).”

the reply given is wrong/inadequate and this is still happening in 2024!!

Support team at Apple needs to wake up. I have lost days of work once I tried to review I realised all the hard work is gone.
