Apple student discount from abroad

Hi! So I wanted to buy an iPad Air with the student Discount, but the thing is that I study abroad in Ecuador and here there aren´t any Apple Stores I could get that discount from. From what I´ve seen, many people say that showing your Unidays student status should be more than enough and I do have that, but Im not really sure, I can´t travel back to the US this year but a friend is comming from Florida on vacation. If I shop the iPad from Ecuador and try to deliver it to my friend, would I be able to still get the Student Discount?

The educational discount is valid only in the country

where the purchaser is a student. You cannot

use your discount as a student in Ecuador to make

an educational purchase in the US Apple store.

Nor does Apple permit buying in one country's store

for delivery to another country.

If your friend qualifies for the student discount in the US,

he can purchase there and bring the iPad to you; the 2 of

you will have to work out repayment details. Be advised

the warranty will be valid only in the US.
