Linking apps to an AppleID

I just got a new iPhone (15) and I transferred all my apps and data to the new phone. However, now I am unable to access my apps because it is trying to make me sign in with an old AppleID that I haven’t used in about 10 years. I don’t have that password and I don’t even have the email anymore to change the password.

Even on my old phone, I did not use that AppleID so I’m not sure why it is trying to make me sign into my apps with that ID. My current AppleID is showing accurately in my phone settings. Why are all my apps trying to make me use that old AppleID, and how do I make sure they can all sign in with my current ID?

Apps downloaded with an Apple ID are forever tied to it and will require it to download and update.

If you no longer have access to that Apple ID, then you won't be able to download them.

There is no way to transfer them to a different Apple ID either.

You can restore your iPhone and set it up again without using a backup or delete the offending apps form the old iPhone before making a new backup to use on the new iPhone.

Alternatively you can attempt to regain access to the old Apple ID (they never cease to exist or stop working).
