Taking Calls on MacBook

I am signed into the same iCloud account on both my Mac and my iPhone, evidenced by my notes/photos/messages being the same. However, while call-sharing is turned on for both, and both are set up to receive and make calls on the same numbers/email addresses, I'm still receiving this error.


I have tried signing in and out of my iCloud account on both devices, which hasn't worked.


My mobile number is registered to both but for some reason I can only use my email to sign in to iCloud, and not my number even though it is an option - maybe this is linked?

Yes, you can absolutely answer cellular phone calls made to your iPhone on your Mac if you have it set up properly. Start here:

Disable the setting on your iPhone. Go to Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset iPhone>Reset Network Settings. The only thing that deletes is saved WiFi passwords. Restart both devices. Go back to the settings on your iPhone and re-enable everything. Test.


Note that both devices must be logged into the same Apple ID and connected to the same WiFi/Ethernet network.
