Signia hearing aid not connecting to Macbook Air M2

Hi, I currently wear Signia Motion C&G SP 7X hearing aids which are the top-of-the-line aids. I am able to connect the hearing aids just fine with the iPhone but it is not detecting my hearing aids on Macbook Air M2. I have tried everything and I am at a loss.

I followed this guide by Apple and I am stuck at point 4 because the hearing aid is not appearing in the list of available devices. I confirmed that my hearing aid is supported by Apple based on the list they've provided.

Has anyone else faced this problem? How can I resolve this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Signia hearing aid not connecting to Macbook Air M2

Seems Signia Motion C&G SP 7X hearing aids do not appear in Apple's list of "Made for iPhone" compatible hearing Aids that can connect with recent Mac computers ...

ie: Seems only a few of Signia's Hearing Aids have the bidirectional streaming required.

  • Insio C&G ITC*
  • Insio C&G ITE*
  • Pure C&G*
  • Pure 312*
  • Pure C&G T*
  • Styletto*

List of Made for iPhone hearing devices - Apple Support

says: "System requirements for MFi hearing devices

MFi hearing devices marked with an asterisk (*) use bidirectional streaming, which enables you to talk hands-free. Devices that use bidirectional streaming are also compatible with Mac"

(ie: Requires Mac MacOS Sonoma 14 or later, on a Mac from the list below:

  • "iMac introduced in 2023 or later
  • MacBook Pro introduced in 2021 or later
  • MacBook Air introduced in 2022 or later
  • Mac Studio introduced in 2022 or later
  • Mac Pro introduced in 2023 or later"

Seems you Mac does have has the capability, yet the hearing aid model does not.
