Apple Approval Notice text message scam

I just got this so they are still at it…

Your Apple ID was used at "App Store" for $149.99. To ensure safety we hold Payment for approval. If not you then contact Support  +18503******

I did not respond and blocked

I just got this text message this morning. Thankfully, I took the time to read it, and the various grammatical errors raised a few red flags, so I googled this situation instead of calling. The number of scams going on recently has been skyrocketing. Be careful!

This campaign will continue for the foreseeable future, with adjustments and new variants intended to maintain the profitability of the business sending this scam spam, and will new recipients being added to the scam.

Usually sent from botnets using compromised accounts, or from faked senders, or both, and referencing phone numbers that will vary.

As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, this and many other scams are ongoing.

One option for reducing these unsolicited SMS messages is a text-blocking app such as Bouncer.

I DO NOT believe that this is my purchase!!! Who is trying to access my money???

I’m on a fixed income and certainly don’t want to buy anything !! I know I DIDNT purchase this whatever I was billed for!!!!

I Just got one today during the Thanksgiving meal. I agree these criminals must be stopped.

I literally got same amount and text only thing different is the phone number it makes me wonder if the scammers put their efforts in to something proactive the world would be a better place
