Can not access iCloud account from new MacBook Air M2

I cannot access my iCloud account from my newly purchased MacBook Air M-2

Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1

I can access my iCloud account from my old 2011 MacBook Pro with the same password that I have used for the last 13 years.

Could there be a conflict between my newly purchased MacBook Air and my old 2011 MacBook Pro?

MacBook Air, macOS 14.6

I just got a MBP to replace my still functional MacAir, and I've had no problems. But one option I can think of is to reset your Apple ID password, and try again. Since your MacBook Pro works, you can reset the password there, and, you'd think, that would fix it. It doesn't seem like it could make it worse, anyway. You can do it on the website here:
