Issues resetting Mac due to non-existant find-my account.

Device - MacBook Air M2 2022

Issue: When attempting to reset device I am prompted to provide the password for a find-my account that does not / no longer exists.

Prompt to sign out of @yahoo.com account, this is the wife's old email. I do not recall ever having a icloud account with this email, but it is possible.

Password reset attempt for @yahoo.com account says account is not valid

Account logged into iCloud on the Mac is her @gmail.com account.

Not sure where to start as far as next-steps here go, some cursory searches didn't come up with anything. I didn't even know that find-my could be linked to a different email? When I launch the find-my app on the Mac it appears to be linked to the @gmail.com account.
