How do I get my iPhone and Mac to sync up together?
Mac gets some messages, iphone gets others. Same network, same cloud. What do I do?

You have asked us to guess a whole lot about your specific setup. We don't know, for example, if you use Messages in iCloud.
Your Mac is not a cellular telephone. It has no capability to send or receive SMS or MMS messages. If you set it up this way, however, the Mac may use Handoff to communicate Text Message Forwarding to/from the iPhone.
