Make text of URL ("search box") larger in safari, other browsers.

I have moderate, intermittent vision impairment and sometimes the tiny type is just plain illegible. Clicking the a,A on Safari expands window body but not URL, so some mornings I just cannot read my own typing or correct errors or slightly modify URLs.

I'm talking about the single line at the top of all windows where one types a URL, not the content of the body of the window.

Mac Settings don't seem to have a way to do that. It would be helpful EITHER to simply make the default size larger OR to have a pop-out/up alternative to make the URL bigger, perhaps with alternatives to CLOSE or SUBMIT/SEARCH..., ideally user-configurable. Of course, one can copy and paste to a text processor, but that gets old fast, believe me.

Ideally a change would be consistent across all browsers, but I could live with Safari only as it's still my go-to browser. I develop websites and need to test across several.

I understand that making the whole thing bigger would be logistically difficult within the context of the toolbar, but if the Cupertino Wunderkinder could address this it would help millions of users. Same thing is true in IOS.
