If I turn on automatic iCloud storage of Desktop and Documents on multiple computers, will the cloud separate the input by computer, or does it all get mixed together?

Each desktop shows as a different one, by Mac name, in iCloud Drive. See Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive – Apple Support (UK)
The point of iCloud is that it is a synchronization service-- iCloud ensures that your iCloud Drive looks exactly the same on all your devices. I already have multiple computers on my iCloud-- my iPhone and iPad and another Mac, for instance. iCloud, including iCloud Documents, looks the same on them all.
I would assume if you turn on Desktop backup for all computers, you will end up with one Desktop folder that they all share and mirror.
Oops. That's interesting. So they all look the same, but with multiple Desktops, etc.
I just realized that my older computer doesn't have sync Desktop on, so, drat.
