Problem with remote control in Logic Pro 11

I have set up a Mackie HUI to use my Faderport classic as a controller, all the functions are working including the transport control buttons however when I use any of the transport buttons it opens the controller assignment page , I have tried to find out why ,but it is beyond me and I need some help to resolve this . My Mac is a Mac studio2 kind regards
