Apple Music playlsits not working correctly

Playlists on my iMac are not working correctly. This also happens on my MacBook Air so this may be a software bug and I just need to be patient and wait for Apple to fix it.

I don't have an Apple Music subscription and use the app only to rip CDs I own to my computer.

Symptoms are:

• I can create a new playlist, but if I try to rename it, the name in the sidebar doesn't change, but the name in the main part of the screen does.
• If I delete a playlist, the name persists in the sidebar, but is otherwise gone
• If I rip a new CD, only the first track appears in 'recently imported' (though this happens only some of the time)

Has anyone any ideas what is going on?
