When using an iPod touch in the car, I get this Error 1852797029

When using an iPad touch in the car, I get this error whenever I try to play music and connect cable to USB port.

"The operation could not be completed. An unknown error occurred (1852797029)."

I tried rebooting the device and swapped in a new cable. Eventually music will play in the car speakers, but usually it skips ahead many songs in the playlist. And the situation repeats the next time I attempt to disconnect/reconnect to the USB.

This is the only situation where I have ever encountered this error. Please advise. Thanks.
