How to Add Audiobooks when Manually managing Music on iPhone?

I manually manage all my music through the Music app on my iMac. When I want to add an audiobook (m4b) it is grayed out. If I click sync then it wants to wipe all my music to allow the sync to preform. Is there a way to add an audiobook to my iPhone when I manually manage music?
