Apple Music wiped pre-subscription local library

So over the years i collected around 5 Gb of music from different sources. This collection was both on my mac and the iphones i used during that time. Last april i subscribed to apple music and to my surprise i just found out that both the iphone and the mac only have the titles that i have downloaded from apple music. everything i owned previously, has been wiped from either. I can see some of the titles being listed on the mac as "icloud: waiting", but that's it. Since i subscribed to apple music i never interrupted my subscription, yet all my music is gone.

Any ideas how i can get my music back?
