After updating my MacBook Pro to Sequoia Chrome is not loading most websites

After updating Sequoia, can’t open Chrome, can’t download or install Chrome. Tried sending Chrome to trash, rebooting, redownloading using Safari (ugh) NOTHING WORKS. Thanks, Apple.

Try downloading a new Chrome installer and run it. You will not lose any bookmarks.

I can’t even open Chrome anymore! Not sure what to do. Ideally I do t want to delete it and loose all my bookmarks

In Chrome, go to the three dots in the upper right corner, then select 'Settings' > 'About Chrome.' This will run an update that solved my problem.

Some people suggest that you disable the Fifrewall for the time being, while other suggest using this procedure to allow Chrome and Firefox to use the Firewall.

1. Open the terminal app.
2. Find the path to your web browser under /Applications. You can list available software by running ls -l /Applications in the terminal.

4. Then, run this command to add your browser to the firewall (despite it being already there, I know). E.g.:

• To allow Firefox access, run:
  • /usr/libexec/ApplicationFirewall/socketfilterfw --add /Applications/Firefox.app
• To allow Google Chrome access, run:
  • /usr/libexec/ApplicationFirewall/socketfilterfw --add /Applications/Google\ Chrome.app

Even with the latest update or a fresh installation Chrome fails to access a local website in my home network since I upgraded my MacBook M1 Pro to Sequoia.

But it works if I start Chrome from the command line (or in the Finder from /Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome)!

There is the same problem with Firefox, but for Firefox the command line trick does not work.

Yea, we're trying to look into it, to see if we can figure out whats causing the issue for the 10-15 people.

Hey, I fixed my Chrome issues. I had to reset the settings and that did the trick.

I have the same issue, regarding chrome. maybe it a bug with the update or is it chrome?

How is everyone else dealing with this?

I have tried everything mentioned this thread and I can't Chrome to work yet. What Apple doing about this issue?

I can't believe no-one from their team actually tested this upgrade without noticing such a problem with everything.

One of the issues is also that Chrome cannot access its update library and when you try to download a new versions from the mac stores, it now says that Chrome is not compatible with mac...

So, I’ve just resolved one of my problems. There is a new setting: Access to local network in Security and Privacy. But some other sites are still unreachable.

Just to add, add the Arc,DuckDuckGo & Tor browsers.

This is only hitting some users. At work, we have around 100 people who have updated to Sequoia and only around 10-15 people are experiencing issues with Chrome.
