Overdrive on 3rd Generation iPad

I go to my digital library and am able to borrow a book and when I go to hit "read from my browser" it comes up in the search bar with allot of numbers but the screen is blank, it will not download the book. I am using an older iPad that does'nt accept the Libby app but one would think that I would be able to read it on my browser. My iPad is a Model MC705LL/A iOS 9.3.5 I have a much cheaper notebook that is old and I can read books in my browser on that so am surprised that this iPad is not functioning as such
