Finder does not find a document

Finder does not find a document

I've been searching for a Pages document in every way I can find, including the very annoying iCloud, can't find it, but I know it's there. Sonoma 14.5, using Firefox browser. What do you suggest?

Mac mini, macOS 14.5

Unless you're using iCloud Drive, then neither iCloud nor Firefox will be involved. If I may ask what may appear to be a dumb question, if a Finder search doesn't turn up the document, how do you know it's actually still there and hasn't been inadvertently deleted?

Have you tried looking in Pages > File > Open Recent..

Could be a Spotlight indexing problem, then. Try EasyFind (free):

https://www.devontechnologies.com/apps/freeware

That often finds files for me that Finder ignores.

I know it's still there because this has happened before, and it's an important document that I would never let go. I put asterisks in its name as it helps with others but it hasn't helped this time.
