I have more scratches in one day on the 16 Pro Max than I have on the 15 Pro Max in 1 year of use.

Scratch RESISTANT, not scratch PROOF. Scratches can and do still happen. So be a responsible phone owner and put a screen protector on it or deal with it looking scratched and worn sooner than it should. Mine has a screen protector and case; no scratches. Can I feel the "titanium and premium feel of the glass"? No. Do I care? No. I paid for a phone with nice features, not something to sit around and feel of. You should adopt that same mind-set, regardless if "you should have to" or not.

iPhone pro max screen with tempered glass screen protector has developed a small spalded chip by the camera button and has three cracks extending across the glass to the other side. I believe the cracks fully penetrate the glass protector. Don’t know if the screen itself is cracked as well. Never had the issue with my IPhone 12 however it had a polycarbonate screen protector on it

Phone is three days old and has not been dropped or abused in any way!

I just got the IPhone 16 plus less than 48 hours ago. I ordered a screen protector because there was nowhere near me that had it in stock. I was very careful with the phone, I practically didn’t touch it for the entire 48 hours to prevent cracks or scratches. I wen5 to put the screen protector on and noticed one decent size scratch on the middle left side and a couple big ones on the top right. How is this acceptable?

Hello!

Perhaps a good idea would’ve been to preorder the screen protector so you have it when you get the iPhone. You may even be able to get the people you buy the device from to place the protector on there, so there’s no dust or bubbles under the protector, since it was done by a professional.

Just some tips for next time.

its just wild that you pay almost a grand for a phone for it to be made so cheaply. I usually keep screen protectors on, so that’s not a big issue, but the fact that it scratched when I hardly touched it, knowing it could happen? Yikes. Unfortunately, that’s how everything in this world is made, cheap.:(

Hello~ A great screen protector saved my iPhone screen yesterday!! I had an extra with me and replaced immediately. Wonder why one would think you could get a scratch on your screen through a screen protector?

You carry screen protectors around? 😆

Um, er, uh.........You don't?? LOL I have an extra really good one in my backpack, you know, just in case!

I have only had my iPhone for a few months and it has scratches on my iPhone 16 plus. I thought the screen was not supposed to get scratches! How do I get this replaced? Very upset this never happened on any of my older iPhones. Very upset for a phone I paid a thousand dollars for.

I suppose, if the scratches bother you enough, you can pay Apple to replace the screen on your iPhone. What you can't get, is your screen replaced under warranty. Cosmetic damage is not covered under iPhone Warranty. There is NO Glass ever made, which can't be scratched. Every iPhone ever released has threads about people upset because their screen got scratches. And Apple never suggested an iPhone screen can't be scratched. They said they're more durable, because they are. But that durability means in a fall, the screen is less likely to break. But to make glass less likely to break, it can still scratch.

Either pay for a new screen, which isn't inexpensive or put a screen protector on your iPhone, which will likely hide the scratches you've gotten and prevent new ones. Personally, I NEVER use an iPhone which hasn't had a screen protector installed the moment I get it.

Did they mention how much it would cost to replace? My phone has scratches right in the middle of the screen and very noticeable. Happened within three days of owning the phone.

Yesterday, I went to the Apple Store to show the scratches and asked they have heard other complaints. I was basically gaslit and told that it happens when I'm wearing jeans and sliding the phone in and out of my pocket. Was not helpful.

If you want to pay Apple to replace the screen on your 16 Pro Max, the cost is $379. It would be far less expensive to put a good quality screen protector on your iPhone, which will likely hide any scratches you have and prevent future scratches.
