Need advice: Restore from clone or Time Machine?

My Mac Studio needs to go into the shop. USB-C ports on the front stopped working, USB-A ports on back stopped working, but USB-C ports on back are still working. Genius Bar thinks it might be the Logic Board, and they also think we might lose the data on the hard drive.

I have two backups of that drive: Time Machine and a clone done by Carbon Copy.

Here's my problem. By the time the Mac Studio comes back from repairs, I'll have been using my MacBook Air, and therefore some things will change. New documents, changed documents, etc. They're all on iCloud Drive, but if I lose the data on my Mac Studio's hard drive and have to restore ... how do I restore the Mac Studio from its last backup (so apps, settings, etc. are restored) and then restore docs, etc., from iCloud Drive?

Doesn't iCloud Drive go first, because I'll be signing in to the Mac Studio with my iCloud account? In other words, is there a way to restore the Mac Studio from Time Machine or the clone, without it overwriting changed docs from iCloud Drive?

I appreciate any advice you can offer.
