iPhone 16 pro battery draining fast

It feels like the 16 pro drains battery like crazy. Mine has gone from 95% to 81% in 38 minutes of light use and some picture taking. Phone also gets really hot when using the camera!

Anyone else experiencing this?

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

My 16 pro battery was draining very fast but after disabling siri and search settings and removing whether app widget as suggested here 11 Proven Steps to fix iPhone 16 Pro Battery Drain Issue and following other recommendations too, there was noticeable improvement in battery draining. Note that I didn't turned off raise to wake and push notifications.

I recently faced heavy battery drainage on my new iPhone 16 Pro, and it was pretty concerning at first. However, after a few days, the issue resolved itself. Now, with about 50% battery usage, I’m getting around 5 hours and 30 minutes of backup, which is solid! So, if you're experiencing similar issues, don’t panic—just give it some time, and it might improve like mine did!

Hello to all, hello Apple marketing, apparently this is not a support issue…

I have the same problem.

The battery drain extremely fast on iPhone 16 Pro.

I have disabled all things possible by iOS. So the phone is not anymore really smart.

The battery continue to drain more than it’s humanly acceptable.

From 80 to 60 in 4 hours, without taking my phone one time in my hands.

From 60 to 45 in 15 minutes on safari, trying to write this comment.

I have checked the battery settings and no more optimisation running.

So Apple marketing, what I have to do? Return my phone? Make some publicity for your phone? Can you please answer to your customers?

Apparently no, if I check this thread.

So next time I don’t buy a new phone here.

Thank you Apple marketing, with my best regards.

Now, it’s time to charge my new 1000$ phone for the 2nd time in the day.

Take the device in to a Genius Bar for diagnostics. Perhaps it has a weak battery:

I’m afraid we don’t. We can’t even confirm this is an issue that needs to be addressed, and not just an issue that affects your device only. We do not work for Apple, we’re just users like you.

You’re best off dealing directly with Apple:

Can you tell us the Maximum Capacity of your device’s battery? Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

Same. I was hanging on to my 12 for dear life but it out last week and I had to get a new one. Upgraded to 16 pro and it’s the worst phone I’ve ever had. How does Apple charge what it does for these phones when the battery life is horrible and it overheats constantly? Not to mention it lags and I seem to have been one of the lucky ones who has Bluetooth connection issues. I don’t understand how the battery drains so quickly when I’m not even on it excessively.

Im ready to go back to flip phones lol

Many users faced this issue and many suggested to do some tweaks in the iPhone to increase battery life and reduces temperature rise like:- Limit Background App Refresh, Disable Location Service etc.

I tried these ways and yes found difference in battery life before and after following these steps.

My iphone16 Pro Max had very good battery life when I got it, which is just a few months ago. Now it barely lasts my workday, much less the evening. What can I do other than cry “foul!”

Stuff that uses battery:

  • Cellular data if you have a weak or no signal
  • VPN if it is installed
  • Apps

That’s it; go to Settings/Battery and see which apps are using the most energy if it isn’t the first two.
