Number files desappeared from iCloud!

Question

Number files desappeared from iCloud!

Overnight, all my Numbers files I had in iCloud Drive vanished. The photos remained. Apple support sent me to the file recovery functions on browser, but they are not there. And they aren't even in the "Recently Deleted" folder. I can't imagine that a person could lose important documents due to THEIR bug. Will they find a solution? I have a telephone appointment in 2 days because now and tomorrow I'm away from home and I don't have my Mac in front of me.

Unfortunately I don't understand what you are trying to tell me. If I go into Time Machine and browse through the various backups, any of them DO NOT give me the contents of iCloud. So from Time Machine I am not able to recover files that were on iCloud up to 3 days ago and have now disappeared. If you kindly have a solution, I ask you please, can you explain it to me in detail? Thanks very much.

You can always restore from your backup.

Please, could be more precise? Wich backup? Time Machine doesn't make backup of iCloud...

Time Machine (provided that you do not optimize) will indeed backup your files synced to iCloud. If you optimize, it will backup any files on your Mac. I'd start there.
