macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 Notes not syncing consistently with iCloud

A(n) (iCloud hosted) note was created on an iOS 17.6.1 device.

On a Macbook running Sonoma 14.6.1 iCloud notes, despite refreshes, shutting down and start again Notes on, the note isn't showing up.

I have resolved this by going on iCloud.com where I found the note. This means that iOS/iCloud is syncing properly and the problem lies with macOS Notes.

I have modified the note throught the iCloud web interface.

The note then showed up on macOS Notes.

This should never happen and makes me questioning if iCloud can be trusted for professional usage.
