IOS 18 Music app not playing through car stereo

So I upgraded to IOS 18 last night and when I went to drive my car my phone connected as usual. As soon as I got a phone call it has dropped out and won't let me reconnect to the stereo via bluetooth pairing. I disconnected the stereo device and reconnected in my bluetooth settings. I tried the same through my stereo but nothing works. I'm frustrated that I will have to use the charger cable or aux connection to play my music as it won't connect. What's funny is that my stereo will still be able to call or answer calls handsfree through its system, it just won't play apple music through it.
