Now that I have disconnected my photos on this device from the iCloud and then deleted the photos that were already downloaded what will happen if I reconnect to the iCloud? Would I lose the photos in the cloud and my other devices that I deleted when the device was not synced?

If you enable iCloud Photos all photos in iCloud will sync to your device.
I read a post somewhere that made me believe that after deleting the photos on the device and then reconnecting to the cloud that everything I deleted on the device with get deleted from the cloud upon reconnection. Is that true?
