unable to save files to drive / google drive / my drive?

I had a user who couldn't save new or modified files to "my drive" as it was called in her case. Turned out the Google Drive app hadn't updated in quite a while. She was running v86 and the newest was v97. That update undoubtedly improved compatibility with her macOS version. Problem solved. I would have said this in a reply to any number of articles, especially since so few had mentioned their google drive version, but all the Reply buttons were grayed out. So I'm throwing this to the wall, hoping it helps at least one person having a similar problem.
