that's just one problem with it, I get the same behavior, plus, can't get videos to play after clicking, and most videos start in the middle now not at the beginning. This app release is really buggy...

Now that you mention it I've seen some start in the middle too. All that, plus sometimes you click on a video and the whole app just immediately crashes. It records the play in History at least so I can try again.

Agreed. Very buggy. Lots of vids will not play. Most vids start in the middle and lots of crashes. How long does it take to get this fixed? Ridiculous.

I'm having the same issue. Same youtube and tvos versions but A2843 (128GB) it started recently. Maybe 3 days ago

The queue while watching YouTube videos does not work on Apple TV either. It won’t move smoothly from one video to another. When you manually click on the next video, the slider begins at the end of that new video and cannot be moved back to the beginning manually.

i’m sure Google will correct it relatively quickly. it obviously did a sloppy job adapting to tvOS 18.

Same here! When I want to play a video on YouTube, the video doesn't play, screen goes black, and then it returns to the Home Screen. However, when I'm able to view a video on YouTube, it starts like 1/3 into the video or halfway into the video.

It’s really unacceptable that Google constantly abuses Apple App Store rules. This latest YouTube update as brought more crashes and this strange unpausing when the screen saver boots. Apple should roll the update back and tell Google to take a hike

Started happening as well a few days ago. Today it’s been making the screensavers look wonky with lines.

I have also noticed the videos starting near the end or not starting at all. Glad to see it’s not just me.

I deleted YouTube from my Apple TV. I followed your instructions and there is no download option there.

The actual word in the button is get, open, or update, all the same button depending on the state of your download

Deleted the app and redownloaded, exact same behavior as before

I found out that the issue with the videos not playing was related to Dolby Vision. YouTube does not seem to handle it well. I turned it down to HDR in Apple TV settings, and I can at least play the videos reliably now. Don’t know what to do with the unpausing

Updating the YouTube app fixed this problem for me. Just go to App Store, search for YouTube, click on download.

(not YouTube TV).
