Trying to skip to another song or add to a playlist, delay play time on Apple Music

When I try to skip to another song or add to a playlist, there’s a substantial delay where it locks. Sometimes it will start playing the next song but the screen still displays the song that’s no longer playing or has been deleted. Anyone have any suggestions? Extremely frustrating!
