New Mac Mini...but how to connect to HP E221C and HP E231 monitors?

I bought the new Mac Mini and tried connecting to some older HP monitors, but no signal to monitors using various adapters, etc. The monitors work great and if I can use them, I would like to repurpose them instead of trashing them. I have a HP E221C and HP E231.

Both of those monitors have DisplayPort, DVI and VGA correct...?

To connect the first one

you need a USB-C to DisplayPort cable

or a USB-C to DVI adapter and a DVI cable

To connect the second for dual monitors

you need an HDMI to DVI adapter and a DVI cable

With regards to the (plain) M2 Mac mini, that is not accurate.

The M2 Mac mini has a limit of two displays, but you can connect both of them via USB-C or Thunderbolt if you leave the HDMI port unused. (This seems to have been a "quiet" upgrade.)

HP E221C is a 21.5" 1920x1080 monitor with DisplayPort, DVI-D, and VGA inputs. It has three USB 2.0 ports (one upstream, two downstream). It has a 720p webcam with dual microphones – which presumably would only work if you connected the USB 2.0 uplink.

HP E231 is a 23" 1920x1080 monitor with DisplayPort, DVI-D, and VGA inputs. It has three USB 2.0 ports (one upstream, two downstream).

Yea' running older displays on adapters can be problematic, because the Mac mini's can be picky about the adapters and cables.
