iCloud and VPNs not cooperating well in Sequoia

I use a VPN to connect to my home from work, my customers from work and my data centre. I noticed a few days ago that iMessage wasn't delivering messages, it took me ages to realise that while connected to any VPN iMessage didn't work. I noticed today while connected to one of my customers routers, I couldn't download they're project file which was on my iCloud drive. I disconnected my VPN and the file downloaded instantly. as soon as I connect to any VPN iCloud doesn't work.

From all the question and comments I have read over the past three weeks on these Communities it is advisable to turn off the VPN since they are causing nothing but grief.

It's not possible because we use the VPN to connect to our azure server (Work Stuff) for my business.

So we have to disconnect to use the iCloud services and then reconnect.

Unless one of the more knowledgeable people that help out on the Communities has a work-a round for this.
