How do I clear an Octopus Energy icon on my Safari tab bar irrespective of the webpage or even Google.

You might have to enter website passwords. Other than that, it shouldn't do much.

I think a screenshot would be really helpful.

Clearing website data ought to do that also.

It'll fix itself eventually, but I rather prefer the pink octopus.

Sometimes one never knows why these things happen.

I'll miss the octopus, too.

Try goin go Safari>Settings>Privacy>Manage Website Data>Remove All.

Note that you may have to wait fifteen seconds or so before the website data populates.

You can delete the Safari favicon cache by dragging the contents of ~/Library/Safari/Favicon Cache/ to the Trash. Quit the Safari app first.
