Mail app on iPad keeps losing list of favorite folders

I’m using iPadOS 18.0.1. For the past 24h or so - I don’t remember it happening before then, even though I’ve been running 18.0.1 for a while -, the Mail app keeps losing my list of favorite folders.

I had customized my list of favorite folders. It’s been working fine for years. And a few days ago, I opened the app and saw:

All my folders were gone. I added them back. Great.

If I force quit the Mail app or restart my device, it gets reset back to Inbox / Flagged / Today.

im at a loss, especially since it’s not on OS update which seems to have caused this.

Anybody experiencing the same?
