Irritating tiny boxes at the bottom of gmail on ipad
How can I get rid of the mini mail boxes that show up on the bottom of gmail every time I open it? They are useless and distracting.

Those thumbnail boxes are from previously open windows that had not been properly closed. You can force these boxes to appear by tapping 
at the top of the screen. Each thumbnail has an “X” is the upper right corner which may be used to delete it.
