Ipod Classic not showing up in Apple music

I plugged in my ipod classic, as I have done for many years and Apple music wiped out the content on the Ipod and now, even though my mac recognizes the device, Apple Music does not and I cannot do anything to fix the issue. I have two other ipods, both have no issues. I took the ipod to a local repair shop and they insisted there was nothing wrong with it. When I follow all the suggestions on previous forums, such as holding option/command to start apple music, or resetting the ipod, nothing works. Please help!!
