Change for an Administrator's Password

I was making an attempt to upgrade software on desktop for a macOS version 12 or later as required; however, in order to install the upgrade, system is requesting an administrator's password; I am the administrator for this computer and do not recall the administrator's password; please advise on how to proceed in changing/editing the required information; again, not seeking for assistance to change user's information, only Administrator's Password; in advance, thanks for your immediate attention on this matter.....
