When I take a screenshot the white box doesn't disappear but remains annoyingly onscreen. The only way that works to delete it is to restart my computer -- which is NOT a good solution! Please anyone have any advice.
Take a screenshot and see if the lit box that framed the shot disappears once the screenshot is taken. Mine doesn't.

FWIW, You actually are taking a screen recording instead of a screen shot. Press Command+Shift+5 to switch.
