Waiting to upload and unable to see the files (empty folders)

Hello, I recently create a folder linked to my drive on my desktop and I drag all my files there now when I'm trying to open it says waiting to download and when I open each file the folder are empty. I had all my work data information there. Any advice?

I'm able to see some of those documents in my Icloud drive some are old version.

Can anyone can advice? I don't have any copies
