I have so many primary mail folders in Mail can I use subfolders in Mail?

I would like to place certain folders under some of the mail folders. For example, put folders for different friends under a folder named Friends, to cut down on the very long list of folders. Then tap on Friends then tap on a particular friend’s name to see just emails from that friend.

I this possible now, or can it be a future feature in Mail?
