apple tv gen 3 no longer allowing screen mirror?

since the last ios 18.1 update i can longer screen mirror from my ipad or iphone to either of my apple tv gen 3,spoke to apple and it seems that they say they arent sure??

if that is the case its the last straw for me and apple,fed up with there updates making there own devices non compatible in the hope that loyal customers keep buying new versions ?!hope im wrong and there is a work around?though ive tried everything.
