LOTR: Return of the King - Extended Edition not available for purchase in India

Hi. The first two movies in the extended edition of the LOTR trilogy are available for purchase/rent on Apple TV. However, the final movie in the trilogy, The Return of the King, only has the theatrical release. Why is this inconsistency? This is the same case with the extended cuts of the Hobbit trilogy where only the final movie does not have the extended version available. This is the problem in India. Any reason beyond the vague 'licensing by studio' reason? And why is this limited to India?
